One of the first things you need to do after deciding to start a e-commerce dropship store is to decide upon what niche you like to enter and what products you would like to sell.
Is no silver bullet for the best niches to get into as many of them have different merits and huge markets. When it does come down to is your personal preference and interests. You also need to consider how long you are planning to run this business for. You may find something that is amazing to sell with great margins and returns, however if you are not very interested in the niche itself you will very quickly lose focus and not work as much as you should.
You may have seen above that I did mention the word “work”. I did this as you need to remember that your new dropship e-commerce website is an actual business and should be treated as such. It would be nice to be able to create a website that makes a million dollars overnight, how ever this is most likely not going to be possible and some work will be required. Again if the topic is something you find boring, over time you eventually stop working on the project and it will fail.
For example I enjoy sports and it’s something I could talk about all day. Compare this to women’s shoes which is a huge and growing market with some great returns, but it is something I know very little about and that does not really interest me.
Probably after writing the first couple of product descriptions about how great the shoe looks and feels I would have no more to say. From then on I would struggle to come up with consistent (decent) content and ideas to to write about and talk about.
So remember only create something that you’re passionate about and ideally something that you can talk about all day. This will make growing your e-commerce dropship business so much easier.
